Our 3rd place in the National competition follows on from the girls’ recent win in the Year 7 South Australian da Vinci Decathlon.

Florence Eaton Cup Winners!
Congratulations to our 1st VIII crew who claimed the win in a strongly contested final race of the 2022 SA Schools’ Head of the River regatta! The weather sure was hot, but it could not match the blistering pace set by our girls. Walford holds the record for the most 1st VIII wins in the history of the Head of the River regatta. Sensational effort!

Dux of IB 2021
We are thrilled to announce that Walford’s 2021 Dux of IB is Madeleine Bardy who achieved a score of 43 out of 45, which equates to an ATAR of 99.45! Madeleine received merits (the highest possible subject grade of 7) for French SL, Psychology SL, Physics HL, Chemistry HL and Mathematics: analysis and approaches HL. A fantastic role model throughout her time at Walford, Madeleine was the 2020/2021 Captain of Rowing and excelled in her French language studies – achieving 1st place in South Australia for Year 12 in the Alliance Française Concours 2021. With a passion for science and her eye on a career in the space industry, we know the sky’s the limit for Madeleine. Congratulations!

Outstanding SACE Results for the Class of 2021!
Walford is extremely proud of our Class of 2021 who has achieved phenomenal SACE results. Five students achieved an ATAR above 99 (top 1%), an incredible 32% of the cohort received an ATAR of 95+, and more than half of our students scored an ATAR of 90+. With a median ATAR of 92.90, it’s fantastic to see the girls’ hard work and perseverance be rewarded with such outstanding results. Congratulations! We look forward to sharing our IB Diploma results in the new year.
Boarding at Walford
The start of a new school year is exciting, but it also means our Boarders must say goodbye to the special places they call home. Year 10 Boarder Elsie lives about 150kms from Adelaide and when it’s time to return to Walford there are a few important friends to farewell…….including a special dog named Hope.
