Out of School Hours Care and Extended Library Care
Walford’s Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)
Our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for Junior School girls before and after the school day. Located within the ELC, the program is recreation-focused, offering children opportunities to relax, play, and socialise after their day at school. It is designed to support busy families while ensuring children feel comfortable, connected, and cared for.
Each morning, educators accompany children on as they walk to the Junior School, helping them start their day with confidence and routine. In the afternoon, Junior School teachers walk children back to the ELC, ensuring a smooth and safe transition into After School Care, where a nutritious afternoon tea is provided.
The OSHC program offers a variety of age-appropriate experiences that cater to children’s interests and developmental needs. Children can choose from a range of activities including toys, board games, puzzles, books, and creative art and craft opportunities, as well as enjoy outdoor play in a supervised setting. Space is also provided for homework, allowing children to complete school tasks in a supportive environment.
We value children’s voices and actively seek their suggestions and feedback, ensuring the program continues to evolve in ways that reflect their interests, preferences, and ideas. In our Holiday Care program the children’s interests, ideas and suggestions are the basis of the recreation and wellbeing focused program, which includes special event days, incursions, excursions and play experiences.
