Two student teams pitched their future travel ideas via Zoom on Wednesday, 23 November in a national competition of over 150 student entrants from schools all over Australia. The panel judging the start-ups consisted of the following judges:

Graham “Skroo” Turner – Managing Director at Flight Centre Travel Group
Tyler Miscannon – National Social Impact Manager at Flight Centre Travel Group
Hailey Brown – CEO & Founder at VacayIt
Sarah Clark – Managing Director ANZ at Intrepid
Natalie Kidd – Chief People & Purpose Officer at Intrepid
James Kavanagh – Global Leisure CEO at Flight Centre Travel Group

There were two entry categories; three winners were chosen from each category (a total of six winners): We had two winning teams, one in each category

  • Rural Photography (Niamh Silvestri, Alex Stock and Aurelia Young) won in the 10-14-year-olds category
  • Fresh and Wild travel packs (Mia Threadgold, Ella Dean and Mia Penhall) won in the 15-21-year-olds category

Winners will receive the following prizes:

  • A virtual mentoring package from Young Change Agents (2 x 1hr sessions)
  • An invitation to an exclusive fireside chat with our special guest judges. Winners will receive advice, guidance and support to further develop their idea from the leaders of the biggest tourism services operators in Australia.
  • The opportunity to be featured on the website and in the top ideas media campaign
  • A prize pack from challenge sponsors and partners

One runner-up team Data Mates (Annabel Kermeen and Scarlett Brammy) will also receive a special reward for participating and will be featured on the site as a runner-up!
