In Year 5, as part of the ‘How we express ourselves’ unit of inquiry, students are exploring ways to express themselves creatively through the use of technology. The Year 5 students have started constructing robots and will code them to perform a dance to music of their choice.
This task allows students to further develop their skills in coding as they will use motors and sensors to command their robots to perform. The concept of expressing yourself was introduced by exploring our own identities and then analysing how modern technology allows us to express parts of ourselves. This is a new unit of inquiry that has been exciting to develop this year.
