On Tuesday 8 November, the Year 5s headed off to She-Oak Run Campsite at Finniss. We enjoyed kayaking, brain games, a quiz night, fishing, orienteering, raft building, a movie night, survival bracelet making and geocaching. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. A highlight was the delicious meals for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert.

One of our favourite activities was kayaking as we learnt how to hold the paddle, stop, make a raft with our kayaks and how to paddle backwards. We played some games while on the kayaks, one of the games was a kayak chase. Kayaking was challenging as it used a lot of strength, resilience and focus. There were also whistle signals, one blow of the whistle meant that we had to stop and listen and two blows of the whistle meant make a raft with everyone included.

On camp we learnt the importance of having resilience when working through challenges. We are grateful to have been able to go on camp this year. We would also love to thank the teachers for making this possible and ensuring we had a wonderful time.
