Throughout this term groups of girls have progressed in their thinking skills by looking at MathsCraft questions.

One particular problem started with asking about stacking cans. First the girls decided what defines a ‘stack’ then found some very interesting patterns concerning the number of cans that can be made into a stack

For instance, using the rules, a stack of 4 cans is not possible! Their task was to explain why, as well as try to explain many other questions that arose. From such a simple question there are so many avenues to investigate!

Amara Davis in Year 6 said, “I don’t know where I’m going with this, but this is fun!”
