There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven…a time to plant and a time to uproot… Ecclesiastes 3: 1 & 3
It has been a pleasure to welcome Dr Deborah Netolicky to Walford this week as we continue the handover that has been taking place since her appointment. Dr Netolicky has had the chance to meet with our staff, students and members of our community in preparation for next year. She spent time with our Executive leadership team collectively and individually in readiness for 2023. Dr Netolicky is an exceptional educator and I am so grateful that Walford will be in her inspiring hands.
As we near the end of term, my family and I are preparing to head to Western Australia to commence our new adventure together. Like anyone who starts something new, we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, but nervous too about the uncertainty journeying into the unknown brings. At the same time, we are saying goodbye to our family, friends, school, workplaces and South Australia. We have certainly been keeping Kleenex tissues in business these past few weeks!
I just love the reading from Ecclesiastes which was shared on the day of our Year 12 graduation. All of us, at different times in our lives will experience the metaphoric change in seasons that time brings. No one season will last forever.
For my family and I, the time for uprooting has occurred. For Walford, a season of new planting and growth has commenced – a time for all of us to embrace.
My thanks, love and best wishes to you all.
