Farewells are often bittersweet. As we say goodbye to our treasured Year 12s, many of whom have been in our school for 13 years, we reflect on the wonderful contribution they have made. Although it is sad to see them leave, we know they are ready for life beyond school and each and every one of them is destined for amazing things.

As is the tradition at Walford, we farewelled our Year 12s final week of school with a range of special events. Their final assembly celebrated the exceptional achievements of this cohort during their time at Walford, from the sporting fields to the stage, they have been nothing short of amazing. Their final day of formal schooling ended with the traditional ringing of the bell, now holding pride of place in The Heart of Walford. The Student Council put on a very special breakfast for our graduates on Friday morning, the theme of Mamma Mia! was a well-kept secret, and the karaoke was a particular success. The Helen Reid Hall stage was converted to a Greek island in spectacular fashion. We are grateful to the Council and their families, as well as past parent Bec Francis for their support with this event. The Year 12s impressed us with their dancing skills at their final assembly and then exited the school through a guard of honour, with each student receiving a rose on her departure. We welcomed parents and friends to the formal Graduation Ceremony on Friday evening followed by a celebration held in the Heart of Walford. We were so pleased to welcome our community into this central new space in our school for this special event.

We wish our Graduating Class of 2022 all the very best with their endeavours beyond school, the future is in good hands! They will always have the support of the School behind them as they go forward.
